Our Lawyers Have 100 Years of Combined Experience in the Bay Area

At the law offices of Hinkle, Jachimowicz, Pointer & Emanuel, located in San Jose, California, our goal is vigorously to defend Californians who have been charged or accused of criminal offenses including sex crime charges (child sexual abuse, child pornography, sexual assault, or prostitution).

Experience Counts. Our San Jose sex crimes lawyers have handled thousands of criminal cases. We can help you.

Santa Clara County is cracking down on sex offenses. No more community service – judges want to see people convicted of prostitution and soliciting locked up in jail, and they’re handing out longer sentences. If you’ve been charged with soliciting a prostitute, or charged with engaging in prostitution, you need a California prostitution attorney with knowledge and experience in handling such cases.

Serious charges require a serious defense. At Hinkle, Jachimowicz, Pointer & Emanuel, our sex crimes lawyers bring a unique perspective to their practice. Two of our criminal defense attorneys worked in law enforcement, giving them a first-hand understanding of police procedures and investigative techniques. They understand the case against you and they understand the weak points in that case.

We defend people charged with all levels of sex crimes including the following:

Often when a client is accused of child sexual abuse, the accusation is made by someone who may have a motive to wish to hurt the accused. This can be an ex-spouse, a disgruntled relative, or neighbor. When this happens, often a complaint is made to the police without the knowledge of the accused. The first news the accused may have is when they receive what is as “pre-text” phone call from the accusing adult or a child who often, has been given a script by the police and whose telephone call is being recorded surreptitiously by the police. The person receiving the call is told often in a very unaccusing manner that “the child is feeling very badly about what happened between the accused and the child.” Often, the person making the call will be encouraged by law enforcement to attempt to get the accused person to admit some level of participation if only to say “that they were sorry if anything ever happened.” Unfortunately, sometimes people receiving these calls are confused by the phone call and out of frustration, ultimately say words to the effect that they are sorry if the child has been hurt or bothered. This will be used by the police as a confession often when there’s nothing to confess about at all!

If you or someone you love has been, accused wrongfully of child sexual molestation, you will, need the best possible attorney handling your child sexual molestation case. This is even more true if there is some truth to the accusation. The criminal defense partners of Hinkle, Jachimowicz, Pointer & Emanuel have the experience you need. Attorney Richard Pointer is a Certified Criminal Defense Specialist (California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization), John Hinkle and Albie Jachimowicz, both former police officers, bring their unique backgrounds and abilities to the handling of child molestation cases. We have the knowledge to bring in specialists in determining that our client is not a pedophile (primary sexual interest in children), and other experts to testify on child abuse accommodation syndrome and children’s memory formation or recovered memory formation. These cases require a forceful defense of the client as they can result in sentences potentially involving many years in prison if not life in prison, lifetime registration, and monitoring as a sex offender.
